Procedure & Costs
In the first consultation, we clarify whether psychotherapeutic treatment makes sense and whether the “chemistry” is right.
This is followed by up to four trial sessions for diagnosis, clarification of goals and selection of methods.
The duration and frequency of the subsequent therapy depends on your individual situation and can be arranged via video therapy.
Costs
Depending on the insurance status and consultation format, health insurance companies cover the costs in full or in part - and in some cases not at all.
Costs for psychotherapy
The costs per session are based on the scale of fees for psychotherapists (GOP). Depending on the amount of work involved, the rate of increase is usually 2.3 to 3.5.
The same rates apply for self-paying patients.
Reimbursement in statutory health insurance
Cost reimbursement (`Kostenerstattung`) allows patients to initially finance the therapy privately and then claim the costs from their health insurance provider if no regular health insurance therapy place is available.
Costcoverage
Please clarify in advance with your insurance company which forms you need for the initial consultation and how much of the costs will be covered. To be on the safe side, please assume a deductible at first.
Private health insurance companies generally cover the costs of behavioral therapy – based on the schedule of fees for psychotherapists (GOP).
Please clarify the assumption of costs with your private health insurance company before starting therapy. More about private health insurance and psychotherapy
Patients with statutory health insurance should also have access to psychotherapeutic treatment.
Since I am currently not licensed by the statutory health insurance providers, the costs can only be covered by them via the so-called cost reimbursement procedure or as a self-payer.
You can also finance your psychotherapy privately. Billing is based on the schedule of fees for psychotherapists (GOP).
As a self-payer, you benefit from short waiting times and discreet, independent treatment without having to register a diagnosis with your health insurance provider.
In accordance with the Bavarian State Aid Ordinance (BayBhV), costs for behavioral therapy for adults aged 21 and over are eligible for state aid, provided a doctor's prescription and corresponding indication are available.
Further information can be found on the official website for the BayBhV.
Members of the Federal Police can also be treated in private practices since 2018. You can find more information at here.
